As many of you know from conversations with me or from looking at my dresses, I am very much a proud Crazy Cat Lady. My family got our first cat when I was 8 years old and since then, there has always been a cat or two in my life.

At the moment I have three cats: Pickle, Herbie and Monster who I rescued from Cats’ Protection when they were kittens. They continue to be a source of joy in my life. 

The poem I picked out reminded me of when - as an 8 year old - I needed to have handwriting lessons to make my words legible. As I loved cats so much, my parents bought me T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum Book of Cats and I used to practise my handwriting by copying out the poems.
