Our Theme is "Rhythm & Beats" and in Science, we have been learning about sound.

We investigated how sound is made by making rice ‘dance’ as we banged on drums- the vibrations of the drum skin made the rice move.

We also learnt how to use a sound meter to measure the volume of sound in decibels as we went on a sound hunt around school.

Finally, Mr Shoffren played us his guitar and we learnt that the pitch of a guitar string is determined by its tension, length and thickness. A thicker string will have a lower pitch than a thinner string of the same length.
